US Covid-19 Case: The US Center for Disease Control (CDC) has reduced the isolation period for Covid-19 patients. According to the new instructions, now the need for Covid patients to stay away from others has reduced. The CDC said that a Covid patient can return to work and interact with people a day after the fever ends.
According to the report of news agency Reuters, “A statement from Dr. Mandy Cohen, director of the agency, said that these changes have been made as the serious consequences of Covid-19 have reduced. However, we need to follow the general rules to protect against the virus.” “This includes mask use, vaccination, treatment, and staying home when sick.” CDC had mandated 5 days of isolation in the previous directive. The previous instruction came in December 2021 and now it has been changed. It was told that the new policy was being considered since last month and has now been implemented.
New instructions will not apply to health workers
CDC data showed that the US has seen a rapid decline in Covid-19 cases. During the week of February 17, only 17,300 people were hospitalized and 510 died from the virus. Initially Covid-19 was the third biggest cause of death in the country, which dropped to 10th place last year. The CDC said the new guidelines will not apply to workers in nursing homes and other health facilities. According to the CDC, they must remain isolated for at least 7 days after the onset of symptoms. Testing for Covid-19 has been made mandatory before returning to work.
Getting vaccinated and wearing mask is mandatory
The health agency has said to take special precautions for the first five days after getting infected with Corona. It is mandatory to stay at home till 24 hours after the fever subsides. The agency has said that people should continue getting their vaccinations and wear masks.
