Moradabad News Today: The holy festival of Navratri ended with full pomp and show on Saturday (12 October). Ravana Dahan took place across the country on the occasion of Vijayadashami i.e. Dussehra. During this time, the festival of Vijay Dashami was also celebrated with full pomp and joy in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Ravana Dahan programs were organized at more than 6 places including major places of Moradabad city like Lajpatnagar, Line Par, Katghar and Daswan Ghat. The most important program of these was organized at Ram Leela Ground across the line, here the Ravana made for burning was the center of attraction.
110 feet high Ravana Dahan
A 110 feet high effigy of Ravana was burnt at Ram Leela Ground across the line. This Ravana was made by the artisans of Meerut. Ravana Dahan program was also organized in Lajpatnagar. All top officials including District Officer Anuj Kumar, SSP Satpal Antil and SP City Kunwar Ranvijay Singh were present at both the major places.
Thousands of people gathered on Dussehra to see Ravana Dahan. Like every year, this time also the effigy of Ravana was burnt in Maharaja Harishchandra Degree College of Katghar police station area in Moradabad. District Officer and SSP were present here as chief guests.
Tight security arrangements on Vijayadashami
During this, the effigy of Ravana was burnt amidst tight security arrangements. A large number of police forces were deployed here. The program was monitored through CCTV cameras. DM Anuj Kumar Singh and SSP Satpal Antil did the tilak of Lord Shri Ram and Laxman.
Moradabad District Magistrate Anuj Kumar Singh said that important arrangements were made through the district administration and police administration. He said that there was no problem or obstruction of any kind anywhere and the effigy of Ravana was burnt in a peaceful manner.
