India And Oman Air Force Joint Exercise in Jodhpur: The sixth edition of the Eastern Bridge, a joint exercise between the Indian Air Force and the Oman Air Force, has started. The joint exercise between the Air Force of India and Oman started at Jodhpur Air Force Station from Saturday. The Indian Air Force’s frontline fighter aircraft Sukhoi-30 and Oman’s F-16 aircraft will be seen roaring in the skies of Suryanagari during the joint exercise which will continue till February 25. During this, the air warriors of both the countries are sharing experiences with each other by practicing precision strikes in the desert areas.
About 130 air warriors from Oman have come to Jodhpur
At the conclusion of the exercise, the Air Force Chiefs of both the countries are also expected to visit. About 130 air warriors of Oman have come to Jodhpur from different aircraft, with them 5 F-16 fighter aircraft. Fighter aircraft of both the Air Force took off on Monday during the exercise. During this, there was a fight between the F-16 fighter aircraft on the city sky and the Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force stationed at the Jodhpur airbase. The pilots of both the countries shared the techniques and combat skills of fighter aircraft with each other by becoming co-pilots.
Joint exercises are held every 3 years
It is worth noting that India and Oman Air Force hold joint exercises every 3 years. Earlier, Eastern Bridge-5 took place in Oman. The main objective of the exercise is to develop understanding between the Air Force of the two countries while establishing harmony. The sky remains clear in Jodhpur during the winter season. This weather is considered very favorable for flying aircraft. This is the reason why Jodhpur airbase is the first choice for maneuvers. In January last year, the Desert Night-21 exercise was held between the Indian Air Force and the French Air Force.
Passenger flight schedules changed
Due to the frequent flight of fighter planes from the airbase, the schedule of passenger flights flying from Jodhpur airport till 25 February has also been changed. Many flights have been cancelled. Flights from 10 am to 4 pm will be affected the most during the exercise. Especially on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, there will be only a few flights from Jodhpur to big cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore in the afternoon. Many flights have also been canceled as only fighter planes will be in the air during the notice to admission (NOTEM). Only when the fighter plane descends for brakes will a passenger plane be allowed to land at Jodhpur airport.
