There are many cases of child marriage in Assam – report
A report released on World International Justice Day on July 17 said that the Assam government’s emphasis on legal intervention in child marriage cases has now become a role model for the rest of the country. It was said in the report that this legal strategy of the Assam government has reduced child marriage by 81 percent in 20 districts of the state between the years 2021-22 and 2023-24.
