Rahul Gandhi Vacates Bungalow: After the cancellation of Lok Sabha membership, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi vacated the official residence on Saturday (April 22). Rahul Gandhi was disqualified as an MP after being convicted in a defamation case. Rahul Gandhi took all his belongings from his official residence. The former Congress President was living in a bungalow at 12, Tughlaq Lane in Delhi.
He handed over the bungalow to the Lok Sabha Secretariat in the presence of his sister and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and other leaders. After vacating the government residence, Rahul Gandhi said that this house was given to me by the people of the country for 19 years. I want to thank him. I’m emptying it. There is a price for speaking the truth these days, I will continue to pay that price. Somebody has to speak the truth, I am speaking.
Congress launched a campaign on Twitter
Meanwhile, Congress leaders extended support to their former party president with the “Mera Ghar Aapka Ghar” campaign on social media. Congress wrote on its Twitter handle, “This country is Rahul Gandhi’s home. Rahul who lives in the hearts of people, Rahul whose relationship with the public is unbreakable. Some see their son in him, some brother, some their leader, Rahul It belongs to everyone and everyone belongs to Rahul. This is the reason today the country is saying – Rahul ji, my house-your house.”
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that he (Rahul Gandhi) spoke the truth about the government that is why all this is happening to him, but he is very courageous, is not afraid at all, will not be afraid and will continue his struggle.
Congress leaders praised
Praising Rahul Gandhi, MP Shashi Tharoor tweeted, “Today Rahul Gandhi vacated his house in Tughlaq Lane in response to Lok Sabha Secretariat’s order. Court gave him 30 days to appeal and HC or SC Still could have reinstated him, but his decision to vacate the government accommodation shows his respect for the rules.”

The bungalow had to be vacated after being disqualified
The former Congress president was sentenced to two years in prison for his remarks in a case related to the Modi surname. After being disqualified as an MP, he was asked to vacate the government accommodation by April 22. Rahul Gandhi shifted his office and some personal belongings from the bungalow on 14 April. This bungalow was allotted to him as an MP.

Lived in this bungalow for two decades
On Saturday, a truck with their belongings was seen leaving the building. He was living in this bungalow for almost two decades. After changing his office, he has already started living with his mother and Congress Parliamentary Party President Sonia Gandhi at her 10, Janpath residence. Rahul Gandhi was first elected as an MP from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh in 2004 and in 2019 he won the Lok Sabha elections from Wayanad.
“You will always be in our homes and hearts”
On vacating Rahul’s official residence, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal targeted the BJP and said that they can evict you from a house, but your place will always be in our homes and hearts. We know that such episodes will not stop you from raising your voice and speaking the truth. Today the whole country is saying in one voice, my home is your home.
