PM Modi Kuwait Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Made a historic visit to Kuwait which is the beginning of a new chapter in the relations between India and Kuwait. Let us tell you that this was the first visit to Kuwait by an Indian PM in the last 43 years. While meeting the Indian community, Modi said that his visit is not only to recognize the achievements of Indians in Kuwait but is also an opportunity to shape the future partnership between the two countries.
1. While interacting with the Indian community, Prime Minister Modi said that this is a special moment for them because it takes only four hours to come from India to Kuwait, but it took four decades for an Indian Prime Minister to come here.
2. PM Modi praised the contribution of the Indian community and said, “You have made a significant contribution to the development of Kuwait with Indian skills and technical talent.” On this occasion, Modi also talked about celebrating the success of Indians.
3. PM met Abdullah Al Baroun and Abdul Latif Al Nessef, who translated Ramayana and Mahabharata into Arabic, in Kuwait and appreciated their contribution.
4. The Prime Minister also met Mangal Sain Handa, a 101-year-old retired Indian Foreign Service officer living in Kuwait, who had expressed his desire to meet the PM through social media.
5. He told the leadership of Kuwait that his visit is an opportunity to take steps towards a stable and prosperous partnership between India and Kuwait. Issues of business, security and stability will be discussed between the two countries.
6. Prime Minister Modi participated in the opening ceremony of the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup which is an important occasion to promote sports and cultural exchange in Kuwait.
7. Trade between India and Kuwait is set to reach $10.47 billion in 2023-24 with Kuwait being the sixth largest crude oil supplier to India.
8. The Indian community is the largest expatriate group in Kuwait, constituting 21% of the total population and 30% of the workforce. The contribution of Indians is important in Kuwait’s economy and development.
9. According to the information, India’s exports have crossed the $2 billion mark for the first time in 2023 while Kuwait’s investment in India is more than $10 billion.
10. It is said that there is a centuries-old friendship between India and Kuwait which is linked to maritime trade before the oil era. In such a situation, PM Modi expressed his commitment to further strengthen these relations.
