Yashasvi Jaiswal created history by defeating Starc, no Indian could do this in test

Most Runs For India in The Opening Over of a Test Innings: The important match of Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 is being played at Sydney Cricket Ground. In which the Indian team took a lead of 4 runs in the first innings. Now the beginning of the second innings was very explosive for India. For which Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul came to open. In the very first over of the second innings, Jaiswal played such a brilliant inning that he made a record in his name.

Jaiswal made a special record
The beginning of the second innings of the fifth Test match being played between India and Australia was explosive. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul came to start the innings, while Mitchell Starc came to bowl the first over for Australia. Whereas earlier Starc used to be a nightmare for Jaiswal in the initial overs, now Jaiswal scored 16 runs against Starc in the first over of the second innings. By scoring 16 runs in the first over, Yashasvi Jaiswal has become the highest run scorer for India in the opening over of a Test innings.

Mitchell Starc’s first over witnessed the aggressive shots of Yashasvi Jaiswal.

• No run came on Starc’s first ball
• On the second ball, short and going outside, Yashasvi sent it over the slip for a four.
• On the third ball, he sent another short and wide delivery across the boundary from behind square.
• Making a late cut on the fourth ball, he hit another brilliant four.
• After missing the cut shot on the fifth ball, he converted the ball pitched outside the off stump into a four with a cover drive on the sixth ball.

Starc’s figures in this over were 0, 4, 4, 4, 0, 4, due to which the second innings of the Indian team started with a bang.

First partnership gave a strong start
Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul added 42 runs for the first wicket. However, Rahul was clean bowled by Scott Boland in the eighth over after scoring 13 runs in 20 balls. Rahul hit two brilliant fours in his innings.

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 22 runs in 35 balls with the help of four fours. However, despite a fast start, he too was clean bowled by Boland in the 10th over.
