Shaheen Bagh News: The Hijab controversy that started from Udupi in Karnataka is in the news all over the country. This dispute has now reached Delhi. In Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh, some girls took to the streets and raised slogans against the hijab controversy. The protesting women say that wearing hijab is their constitutional and religious right and they are demonstrating in support of it.
Uzma, who is demonstrating, says that “Wearing hijab is part of our religion. Nothing should stop us from wearing hijab. Here we are standing and supporting our sister in Karnataka through the demonstration that we are with you. At the same time, he also said when wearing a turban is not prohibited. When the Chief Minister can wear saffron, then why stop wearing the hijab.
Shabina said in Karnataka, “We are supporting those who are hijabi girls. Hijab is our right. We want to give this message from here that we are with them.” Another woman says, “What’s the problem with wearing a hijab. Saraswati Vandana is held in the school, other festivals are celebrated. Similarly, we have the right to wear hijab. An attempt is being made to give it a political color.
Mohammad Anwar says that, “Efforts are being made to give electoral color to this issue. We are with our sisters. He is not alone and we are also standing here so that this does not happen again to anyone in the country. A woman says that, “It would be better if the government pays attention to unemployment and other issues. What is this country and how is Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Hai where a girl is surrounded like this and this happens to her.”
The controversy over the hijab started in December last year at Udupi’s Women’s PU College. Then from here it became a matter of discussion all over India. After which people were seen protesting somewhere in support of it and somewhere in protest. Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh, which came into the limelight during the time of CAA and NRC, has once again focused the attention of people on this protest. Here with a crowd of about 100 people, women are protesting and registering their support in the case of Karnataka.
