India Alliance Leadership: West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) President Mamata Banerjee has expressed her desire to lead the ‘INDIA’ alliance. After this announcement, the discussion among the opposition parties has intensified. From Uddhav Thackeray, Sharad Pawar to Lalu Prasad Yadav have also supported Mamata. Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday (December 10, 2024) has instructed his party’s MPs to avoid commenting on this matter.
Rahul Gandhi asked Congress MPs to refrain from commenting on the statements of leaders of constituent parties of ‘India’ alliance, because if there is any issue then it will be looked into by the party leadership. According to sources, in the meeting with the party’s Lok Sabha members, Rahul Gandhi also said that the MPs should focus on raising issues related to public interest. His statement has come at a time when some leaders within the opposition alliance ‘India’ have given statements regarding leadership.
What did Lalu Yadav say?
RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav said that Mamata Banerjee should get leadership. Congress’s opposition makes no sense. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut indicated that his party is ready to discuss whether someone outside the Congress should lead the opposition alliance ‘India’. Earlier, some leaders of Trinamool Congress had also advocated giving their leader Mamata Banerjee the leadership of the opposition alliance.
Mamta had expressed her desire to lead the India alliance
Recently Mamata Banerjee had expressed her desire to lead the opposition alliance India. He had said during an interview, “If he gets a chance, he is ready to take charge of the alliance along with West Bengal.” After this statement of Mamta, the question of leadership in ‘INDIA’ alliance has been brought to the center stage. Mamta’s position has become stronger with the support of Sharad Pawar and Lalu Yadav, but the issue of leadership still remains complicated due to the silence of Congress and disagreement of Left parties.
