India-China Clash on Tawang: There has been a difference of opinion between India and China regarding the border dispute for a long time. On many occasions, Chinese soldiers have forced India to give a befitting reply while taking provocation action. There was a clash between the soldiers of India and China in Tawang of Arunachal Pradesh, in which many soldiers of both the countries were injured. On December 9, about 300 Chinese soldiers tried to infiltrate again in the Tawang sector, but the brave soldiers of the Indian Army gave them a befitting reply.
The Tawang region of Arunachal Pradesh is considered very special for India and this is the reason why Indian soldiers repelled more than 300 Chinese soldiers. China has suffered heavy losses in this incident of conflict.
Why is Tawang special for India?
There is a border of about 3,488 kilometers between India and China. This border is shared by Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal, Uttarakhand and Sikkim. Tawang located in Arunachal Pradesh is at an altitude of about 17,000 feet. The area of Tawang falls inside the McMahon Line and it is an important part of India, but there is a flaw in China’s intentions and it now refuses to accept the McMahon Line. This area also shares the border of Bhutan in the west and Tibet in the north. Strategically this area is very special for India. This is the same place where India’s largest Buddhist monastery is also located.

Why does China have an evil eye on Tawang?
There is a long-standing dispute between India and China over some area on the Line of Control (LAC). China has been trying to capture these areas. China’s evil intention is also to capture the Tawang post so that from here it becomes easier to monitor the LAC with Tibet. Tibetan religious leader Dalai Lama has also been declaring Tawang as the territory of India. China calls the Dalai Lama a separatist leader. China’s intention is also to capture Tawang and destroy the Tibetan Buddhist center. If China takes control of Tawang, then its grip on Tibet will be even stronger, as well as it can stake claim on Arunachal as well. However, India will not allow this to happen at any cost.
Tawang’s connection since 1962
Tawang is also associated with the Indo-China war of 1962. India had to face a lot of problems here during the 1962 war. Later, under the ceasefire, China had to retreat. After the McMahon agreement, Tawang was considered a part of India. After the agreement, China had also vacated it because this area falls within the McMahon line but the dragon now refuses to recognize it.
