Why is India becoming the favorite destination for offshore workstations of the world’s big companies?


Forbes Global 2000 Report: Be it the stock market figures or the development graph is not coming accurately. Or maybe the mathematics of GDP is not fitting in India. Still, India is becoming the favorite destination of the world’s big companies. By 2030, 620 of the Forbes Global 2000 companies are going to open their locations in India. Till now, offshore workstations of the world’s biggest companies have been established in India, these are called Global Capability Centres, they are providing employment to about 12-13 lakh people. This is revealed by the latest ANSR report. These Global Capability Centers are IT based workstations. In India, 825 centers of 450 companies out of Forbes Global 2000 have started work here. Due to their opening in large numbers in India, there is easy availability of skilled and expert workforce in AI, data analytics and cyber security.

This is why Bengaluru is becoming a hub for global companies.

Bengaluru has become a champion in terms of setting up Global Capability Center (GCC) of the world’s biggest companies in India. Out of the Forbes Global 2000 companies, 285 GCCs have been established in Bengaluru. Five lakh 60 thousand professionals are working in them. After this comes Hyderabad’s turn. Global capability centers of 110 companies have been set up here. One lakh 90 thousand professionals work in them. Due to state of the art infrastructure and business friendly government policy, Bengaluru and Hyderabad are becoming major locations for Reach Talent Pull. Ahmedabad, Visakhapatnam, Trivandrum, Kolkata, Coimbatore and Bhubaneswar are also emerging as preferred GCC destinations.

Multi city operations increasing by 45 percent

According to the ANSR report, not only big players but also mid-market players and small enterprises are setting up their base in India. ANSR is a company that helps companies set up and maintain GCC. Of the companies whose GCC workstations have been established here, 45 percent are expanding multi-city operations.
