Less than 10 months are left in the political battle to gain power in the country. In such a situation, from BJP to Congress and opposition parties have started making their own strategy and giving it a real shape.
In this sequence, the discussion has intensified in the political corridors of UP that Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (Subhaspa) may enter the fray in alliance with BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
In fact, since the break of the alliance with the SP, Subhaspa President Om Prakash Rajbhar has been seen matching the tone of the Bharatiya Janata Party. After closeness with BJP and all kinds of speculations, now if we believe in the news, it is almost certain that Subhaspa will enter the electoral fray in alliance with BJP.
Subhaspa president Omprakash Rajbhar can attend the NDA meeting to be held in the capital on July 18. It is being said that after talking to JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah in this meeting, after final discussion on the nature of the alliance, its official announcement can also be made.
However, OP Rajbhar has also talked about making Mayawati the PM a few days back. OP Rajbhar is also known for sudden change of stance in UP politics. In 2017, Rajbhar, who contested the elections in alliance with the BJP, left the Yogi government midway. Now the question arises that why is BJP ready for an alliance with OP Rajbhar even after doing back and forth politics?
Why is BJP ready for an alliance with Rajbhar?
In politics, there is no one’s permanent friend and enemy. Presently something similar is happening in the politics of UP. As the Lok Sabha elections are coming closer, the news of the proximity of BJP and Subhaspa is increasing.
It is believed that the Bharatiya Janata Party is fitting OP Rajbhar in its political equation to keep the fort of Purvanchal strong. If OP Rajbhar and BJP enter the field together in the Lok Sabha elections, then it will be difficult for Akhilesh to save his political existence in Purvanchal.
First let us know how many seats Subhaspa won in the last elections.
In the UP assembly elections held in the year 2017, Subhaspa BJP entered the fray together. At that time Rajbhar’s party fielded its candidates on 6 seats and won 4 seats.
In the UP assembly elections held in the year 2022, Subhaspa entered the fray in alliance with the Samajwadi Party and fielded its candidates on a total of 18 seats. However, this time they could get only 6 seats.
Rajbhar has influence on the seats of Purvanchal
Talking about the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, this time BJP has set a target of all 80 seats in UP. The full attention of the party is on the seats of Purvanchal. In fact, there are many such seats in Purvanchal, where BJP could not register victory in the last Lok Sabha elections. Of these, some seats including Ghazipur, Ghosi were won in the Lok Sabha elections in 2014 but the party had to face defeat in 2019. BJP wants to get these seats again with the help of OP Rajbhar.
Om Prakash Rajbhar claims his own influence on about 32 Lok Sabha seats in Purvanchal. In such a situation, if Subhaspa enters the field with BJP, then NDA will be able to keep its political base strong in Purvanchal.
Subhaspa is effective on these seats
1. Varanasi 2. Ghosi
3. Jaunpur 4. Baliya
5. Allahabad 6. Lalganj
7. Faizabad 8. Ghazipur
9. colony 10. Ambedkar Nagar
11. Gorakhpur 12. Salempur
13. fish town 14. Azamgarh
15. Bhadohi 16. Chandauli
BJP necessary for each other-Rajbhar
OP Rajbhar has understood that forging an alliance with any other party other than the Bharatiya Janata Party will not be beneficial. On the other hand, BJP also needs Rajbhar to get maximum votes considering the political arithmetic of Purvanchal and the unity of the opposition.
Why were you raising the issue of making Mayawati the PM?
In a conversation with a news channel, OP Rajbhar had said that if there is an alliance of opposition against BJP in UP, then without Mayawati, Jayant Chaudhary and Subhaspa this alliance has no meaning. He had said that the opposition should be made the PM face of Mayawati, as she has been an efficient ruler and her party has a mass base in many states.
But even behind raising the name of Mayawati, Rajbhar’s thought-out strategy is considered. By tossing Mayawati’s name for the post of PM, he wanted to kill many with one stone…
- To isolate Akhilesh Yadav from the campaign of opposition unity.
- Trying to increase his political base among the Dalit community.
- To be the center of political discussion.
What did Om Prakash Rajbhar say about alliance with BJP
to come Lok Sabha Elections On the alliance of Subhaspa and BJP, Rajbhar said, ‘With whom the alliance will happen, when it will happen, it will be announced at the right time. But one thing is certain that Akhilesh Yadav does not know how to run an alliance. What he did with me earlier, now he is doing the same with Jayant. He does not have the ability to run the alliance.
After breaking the alliance with SP, Rajbhar had said on his closeness with BJP that he keeps on talking to BJP leaders and ministers and he also meets with them.
Rajbhar started politics with Kanshi Ram
OP Rajbhar first started his political career in the year 1981 with BSP founder Kanshi Ram. Rajbhar resigned from the BSP in 2001 after a dispute with BSP supremo Mayawati. Actually, he was angry with the renaming of Bhadohi to Sant Kabir Nagar.
After leaving BSP, Rajbhar formed his new party named Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party. In his political career of 35 years, Rajbhar established himself as the leader of the most backward. Claims to have influence over two dozen seats in Purvanchal.
The basis of OP Rajbhar’s politics
OP Rajbhar describes himself as the leader of the most backward class in the state, which includes 17 castes like Kahar, Kashyap, Kevat, Mallah, Nishad, Kumhar, Prajapati, Dhivar, Bhind, Rajbhar, Dhimar, Batham. These castes have influence on many seats and decide the equation of victory and defeat. They have a lot of influence in Purvanchal. It is also important to know one thing here that 52 percent of the population in UP belongs to the backward class ie OBC. In this, except Yadavs, 43 percent of the population comes in the most backward class. There are 79 castes in the ambit of OBC in UP, in which Yadavs have the largest population followed by Kurmis.
The politics of UP is revolving around this OBC equation. BJP has prepared a big vote bank and leaders of non-Yadav OBCs. The party also associates PM Modi with the OBCs. Along with this, Kurmis, the second largest population of OBCs after Yadavs, are also traditional voters of BJP. Through OP Rajbhar, BJP is trying to win over 17 castes belonging to the most backward classes.
