India has improved its relations with Israel in the last few years, but India’s viewpoint on Palestine remains the same as before. According to India, Palestine is a separate nation. He fully supports its independence.

Partners in the governments of Palestine and Lebanon

In 1988, India was the first non-Arab country to officially recognize Palestine. This situation lasted till 1992, when India established full diplomatic relations with Israel. There are also political wings of Hamas and Hezbollah, which have also been stakeholders in the governments of Palestine and Lebanon. Because of this, many countries including India also see them as an administrative and social movement. This is the reason that despite pressure from Israel and America, the Indian government did not declare these organizations as terrorists.

In the year 1974, when the whole world was defaming Palestine Liberation Organization and its leader Yasser Arafat by calling them terrorists, India supported them. India opened its representative office in Gaza in 1996 and later transferred it to Ramallah.

During the Second World War, in 1938, Mahatma Gandhi had said that Palestine has the same relationship with the Arabs as England has with the English or France has with the French.
