TMC Slams RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat: Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Saturday, October 12, reacted sharply to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement on the RG Kar rape-murder case and termed him as the “clear voice” of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
According to news agency ANI, TMC leader Kunal Ghosh raised the question as to why the RSS chief did not comment on the incidents in Manipur, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
‘Bhagwat’s statement is like that of a BJP leader’
In the video, Ghosh can be heard saying, “We strongly oppose the statement given by Mohan Bhagwat. In the RG Kar case, within 24 hours the Kolkata Police arrested the accused and the CBI chargesheet positively stated that “Things came to light.”
He further said, “Bhagwat did not say anything on the crimes against women in places like Uttarakhand, Manipur, Nagpur, UP where BJP is in power. This is not the voice of the RSS chief, this is the voice of an authentic leader of BJP. There is a clear voice. Maybe they are looking for the right president.”
Mohan Bhagwat’s statement
Addressing an event in Nagpur, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat condemned the rape-murder incident at Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital and College and called it a “shameful” combination of the nexus of crime and politics. He also made an indirect attack on the delay in justice and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Bhagwat said, “What happened at RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata is shameful. But this is not an isolated incident. We should be alert that such incidents do not happen. But, even then, the way things were delayed, the criminals An attempt was made to save it, it is the result of the nexus of crime and politics, this toxic culture is ruining us.”
The RSS chief further said that our country is such that when Draupadi’s clothes were pulled, Mahabharata happened and when Sita was kidnapped, Ramayana happened.
