CDC issued warning regarding carrots
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a warning on Sunday (November 17) regarding carrots that were sold to major supermarkets by Grimmway Farms. The CDC said in its statement that so far 39 cases of carrot-related E. coli infection have been reported in 18 states of America. Since then, the CDC has warned people not to eat any carrots. The CDC said the affected carrots are no longer available in US stores, but may be in people’s homes. Which needs to be thrown away first.
Affected carrots were recalled from other countries also
According to the US Food and Drug Administration, Grimmway Farms has also voluntarily recalled carrots from stores in Canada and Puerto Rico due to the carrot outbreak in the US. Grimmway Farms, based in California, issued a press release on Saturday (November 16). In which the company said that the company is reviewing its farming and harvesting methods and is working closely with the authorities.
What is E. coli bacterial infection?
According to the CDC, Escherichia coli (E. coli) is an infection caused by bacteria. Most of its forms live in the intestines of humans and animals and are not harmful. But there are some E. coli bacteria which can be life threatening after consumption. This may increase the risk of gastrointestinal diseases. The main symptoms of this bacteria include dehydration, bloody diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain and fever.
