When Zayed Khan Wanted To Ask Shah Rukh Khan If He Can ‘Act’ During The Casting Of Main Hoon Na

Shah Rukh Khan and Zayed Khan were a part of the super-successful blockbuster ‘Main Hoon Na’. However, not many know that Zayed Khan’s casting was riddled with some drama of its own kind. Recently, in an interaction with ‘Couple of Things’ Zayed spoke about how he bagged the role in the film. So, it turns out that SRK had asked him quite a blunt question before finalizing the cast. “Can you act?” SRK had then asked Zayed. The former admitted being a little hurt but then again all turned out well when he got the role opposite the superstar himself.

How Zayed Khan was cast in Main Hoon Na as second lead

During the interview, Zayed Khan recalled how Farah Khan had asked him to meet her at Shah Rukh Khan’s office. He then added, when met Farah, he told her, “Farah looks at me and I tell her that ‘Farah, firstly, I don’t know why am I here but… She says ‘just shut up for two minutes’. felt she is very rude. I am trying my level best to make conversation and Shah Rukh walks in.

Zayed Khan recalled that as he sat listening to Shah Rukh Khan, he was struggling to process all that was going on until he was offered the second lead in ‘Main Hoon Na’. “I couldn’t say anything so he goes”All of them are working here within the debt band. (Let’s leave all these unimportant things), I just want to ask one question ‘Are you an actor? can act, I felt very bad that someone talked to me like that. (I felt bad that someone asked me like that). I said I was born to act. It came from a point of view that I wasn’t trying to be arrogant or anything. I was feeling very bad that he asked me that can you act? I wanted to ask him can you act? When I answered, he just chucked the question.”

Meanwhile, ‘Main Hoon Na’ released in 2004 and was a big blockbuster of the time.
