In an interview, the ‘Mere Dad Ki Dulhan’ star revealed that she faced bankruptcy several times in her career. During this period, the actor also spoke openly about facing poverty in his life.

In the conversation, Varun Badola said, ‘He did not work round the clock and often faced bankruptcy. Many people used to ask me that I don’t work much. To be honest, if you look at the world, not many actors do much work.

‘Surviving in the industry for 30 years…’

He further explained how he managed to bag a key role in 2019’s ‘Mere Dad Ki Dulhan’ 19 years after doing ‘Koshish – Ek Aasha’. The actor said, ‘He sometimes feels that he could have had a bigger car and a bigger house than what he has now. Meanwhile, he told that staying in the industry for 30 years is more important than wanting a big house and car.

Only this much money was left in the bank account

In the interview, he told that he worked for six months every two years and then he had no work for the next two years. Therefore, they often faced bankruptcy. According to the actor, at one time the situation became so bad for him that less than Rs 2 lakh remained in his bank account.

Talking about the struggle, the actor said, ‘He once thought that he would not get any work in the industry. You understand, a lot is changing around and it is changing so fast and let me tell you right, it is not easy whether you get it or not because you only know how to do one thing.
