UP News: In Bhadohi, a woman who was building a house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana climbed on a water tank, threatening to commit suicide. On seeing the woman climbing on the water tank, a crowd of people gathered. At the same time, the police force also reached the spot. Every effort was made to control the situation. When the woman was assured that the roof of her house would be made and she would not have to pay goon tax, then she got down.
The whole matter is of Himmatpur Bakuchian under Bhadohi Kotwali area. Where the victim woman named Sunita Patel was building her house with the funds received from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. When the second installment came, he started building the roof of the house, but some domineering people of the village stopped his house from being built. According to the victim woman, she complained about this several times in the local police station and tehsil, yet justice was not received. After stumbling door to door for justice, she climbed on the water tank to commit suicide. The woman has alleged a nexus between the bullies, officials and the local police. The woman also alleges that Rs 30,000 was being demanded from her.
Two people are claiming on one land
The woman said, ‘We want justice and nothing else. We are poor, illiterate. They don’t know the rules and regulations, but how can anyone claim the land on which other people as well as our ancestors have been living.’ Deputy SP Ajay Chauhan, who reached the spot, told that the woman was taken down after persuasion after a lot of effort. Police say that it is a land dispute. Only Tehsil employees and officers can tell how the land is and how much land belongs to whom. Both the parties have been called to the police station with papers and people from the concerned department have also been called and action will be taken against whoever is guilty after further investigation.
