Allowing Gujarat University’s appeal against the CIC order, Justice Biren Vaishnav imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on Arvind Kejriwal. He has been asked to deposit the amount with the Gujarat State Legal Services Authority within four weeks. Justice said in his order that the petition is allowed and the order of CIC dated April 29, 2016 is set aside.

You will appeal against the decision
After this decision of the Gujarat High Court, the Gujarat unit of the Aam Aadmi Party said that it would appeal against this order before the division bench. AAP Gujarat legal cell president Pranab Thakkar said that with this decision, citizens have lost the right to seek information about the Prime Minister’s degree. We are also surprised by the imposition of fine on the respondent Arvind Kejriwal in this case. We are not satisfied with this decision. He said that he would soon move a division bench against this order.
