Eid-ul-Fitr: The festival of Eid ul Fitr is being celebrated in Pakistan today i.e. on Wednesday (April 10). Eid prayers were offered in different Eidgahs in the morning. When Pakistan is mentioned, the first name that always comes to mind is that of Mohammad Ali Jinnah. Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan and leader of the Muslim League, had demanded a separate country for Muslims.
After the formation of Pakistan, Mohammad Ali Jinnah lived only for a few months. During this period, he got a chance to offer Namaz only once on Eid and in that too, due to arriving late, he had to sit in the last row. When the Maulana of Idgah was asked to wait for Jinnah, he refused. Let us know what is that story?
Had to offer namaz sitting in the last row
According to a BBC report, a huge crowd of worshipers had gathered at Idgah in Karachi. Everyone knew that Mohammad Ali Jinnah, known as Quaid-e-Azam of Pakistan, would also join him in the namaz. However, no one came to know about Jinnah’s arrival. Actually, because of Jinnah coming late, he started offering namaz along with the common people by sitting in the back row.
However, after the Namaz was over, as soon as people came to know that the person who was offering Namaz with them as a common man was the Quaid-e-Azam of Pakistan, they welcomed him with slogans of Jinnah Zindabad.
Maulana refused to stop for Jinnah
According to this report, Mohammad Ali Jinnah was already informed about the timing of Namaz at Idgah. Due to some reasons he could not reach on time. During this time, the officials informed Maulana Zahoor-ul-Hassan of Eidgah about Jinnah’s late arrival and requested him to extend the namaz for some time.
Maulana Zahoor-ul-Hassan refused this request of the officials. He said that I have not come here to offer namaz for Quaid-e-Azam. He said that I have come to offer namaz for Allah. It is noteworthy that Maulana Zahoor-ul-Hassan was a member of All India Muslim League Council. Jinnah used to call him ‘Bahadur Yaar Jang’ of Sindh.
Jinnah praised Maulana
There was no waiting for Jinnah that day at Eidgah and prayers were started. However, Jinnah reached there within some time, but he offered Namaz sitting in the last row only. The officials requested him to sit in the front, but he refused. He also praised Maulana for not delaying the prayers.
