The day of April 2 is recorded with a unique incident in the history of world aviation. On April 2, 1986, when a bomb placed under a seat of a passenger jet plane Boeing 727 of America’s leading airline company TWA exploded, a huge hole was created in the plane going from Rome to Cairo at an altitude of 11,000 feet and four people sitting at that place were killed. Fell out of the plane due to air pressure. An eight-month-old girl was also included among them.
There was chaos in the plane after this incident. However, the flight pilot saved the lives of the remaining passengers by landing the plane in Athens with great care. The Ezzedine Qassem unit of the Arab Revolutionary Cells claimed responsibility for the attack and described it as revenge for the US bombing against Libya.

All the passengers sitting in the plane were badly frightened. Responsibility for this bomb blast was taken by the Ezzedine Kassam Unit of Arab Revolutionary Cells. The organization called it an act of revenge against the American operation in Libya.
