France welcomed the fall of Assad regime in Syria
France on Sunday (8 December) welcomed the fall of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime, calling it an end to more than a decade of violence against the people.
In a statement, French Foreign Ministry spokesman Christophe Lambin appealed to the Syrian people to enhance unity and reconciliation and to reject all forms of fundamentalism and extremism.
What did Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry say?,
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on Sunday (December 8), ‘After the fall of the Assad regime in Syria, millions of displaced people there can now return to their country.’
When asked about Assad’s current location and his security during an event organized in Qatar, the Foreign Minister said, ‘Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is probably no longer in the country. Because Islamic rebels have also claimed that they have left the country.
Iranian embassy attacked in damascus
On Sunday (December 8), an Iranian state television reported that Iran’s embassy in the Syrian capital, Damascus, was also attacked after the announcement of the fall of Bashar al-Assad. The state television broadcaster announced that, ‘Unknown attackers have infiltrated the Iranian Embassy.’
