By playing this new trick, he created a stir in the politics of Maharashtra. When there was an uproar over this, Malik later clarified and said that now I am the official candidate of NCP.
Actually, Nawab Malik filed two nomination papers, one as NCP (Ajit Pawar) candidate and the other as an independent. There was a lot of uproar regarding this. However, Malik later said that he is the official candidate of NCP. He said, “Today I filed nomination from Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar Assembly constituency as an NCP candidate. I also filed nomination as an independent candidate, but the party has sent the AB form and we submitted it at 2.55 pm, now I am the official candidate of NCP.”
‘Mankhurd will win Shivaji Nagar seat’
He said, “I am very grateful to Ajit Pawar, Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare. They have faith in me. A large number of voters will support me. I am confident that we will win the Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar constituency this time.” Earlier, Malik had said that the party’s AB form had not been submitted. If the AB form is submitted on time, I will contest as a party candidate, if not, I will contest independently as per the wishes of the people.
