There was a stir here after a vehicle filled with passengers fell into the Sindh drain. According to the information, this Tavera vehicle was carrying 9 passengers and became unbalanced and fell into the drain.

4 people have died in this accident while 3 people have been saved. 2 people are still missing. It is believed that the death toll may increase. Due to the onset of night, the relief and rescue operation has been stopped by the administration for the time being. It can be started again in the morning.

How did the accident happen?

An official told ABP News in this regard that a Tavera vehicle lost control and fell into the Sindh drain at Gagangir Sonmarg on the Srinagar-Leh highway. After receiving information from the local people, the rescue team immediately reached the spot and an operation to evacuate the people was started. He said that three people have been rescued and shifted to Gund PHC hospital.

Along with the police, the army also participated in the rescue operation.

In a statement issued by the district administration, it has been said that along with SHO Gund police team, Army’s 34 Assam Rifles, Traffic Rural Police, Civil Administration, local SDRF and NDRF have jointly conducted relief and rescue operations. The families of all those who have been killed and injured will be informed about this. The traffic police will form a team to investigate how the accident occurred.
