UP News: Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board has sacked former chairman and current member Wasim Rizvi alias Jitendra Narayan Tyagi after complaints of corruption in Waqf properties. Along with Waseem Rizvi alias Jitendra Narayan Tyagi, five more mutawallis including board member Syed Faizi have also been sacked. Show cause notices have been sent to the mutawallis of seven other waqf properties while new mutawallis of 23 waqf properties have been posted. The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Board Chairman Ali Zaidi on Friday. Zaidi said that the Management Committee of Lucknow’s Waqf All India Shia Yatimkhana has been dissolved with immediate effect after being found guilty in complaints of working contrary to the Waqf Act. After the dismissal of the chairman of the committee, Wasim Rizvi alias Jitendra Narayan Tyagi, the board has appointed Maulana Mohammad Mian Abdi as the chairman of the managing committee. Now a new committee headed by Abdi will look after the Shia orphanage.

The board has also dismissed Wasim Rizvi alias Jitendra Narayan Tyagi and Syed Faizi from the post of Mutawalli of Waqf Karbala Malkajahan. The allegations of irregularities in the Waqf property against Rizvi were found to be true in the investigation. Waseem Rizvi Shia Yatimkhana’s chairman told that Shia became a member after contesting the election of Waqf Board as committee chairman. Soon a notice will be sent to the government about the dismissal from the management committee. Apart from this, there were complaints of many irregularities in the accounts of offerings to the Dargah Hazrat Abbas located in Rustamnagar, Lucknow. Board chairman Ali Zaidi said that after investigating the complaints, the managing committee has also been dismissed. The board has now taken the dargah under its control. According to Chairman Zaidi, social worker Meesam Rizvi has been made the administrator of the dargah.
Steps taken on allegations of corruption in Waqf properties
Irregularities are also under investigation against Mutawalli Shiraz Abbas of Waqf Karbala Abbasbagh, Hardoi Road Thakurganj. After hearing his side, the board has appointed Imam-e-Juman Maulana Kalbe Jawwad as administrator, taking the management of Karbala under its control. Apart from this, show cause notices have been sent to the mutawallis of Dariyawali Masjid Lucknow, Waqf Hazra Begum Hadi Begum, Waqf Masjid Hasan Raza Khan Faizabad, Mazar Shahid Salim Agra, Waqf Masoom Daulat Amroha under various sections of the Waqf Act. Complaints of irregularities were being received against these mutawallis.
