Karnataka Government Formation: After registering a resounding victory in the Karnataka election results, Congress is facing difficulty in deciding the CM. On Sunday (May 14), the churning started to elect the CM, which is continuing on Wednesday as well. Meanwhile, several rounds of meetings have taken place between top Congress leaders from Bengaluru to Delhi, but no decision has been taken. Now Congress General Secretary KC Venugapal has given a big statement regarding the decision and said that a good decision will come soon.
Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal also reached Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence. After meeting Kharge, Venugopal said that the decision will come, wait. A good decision will come as soon as possible. On the other hand, the head of the media department of Congress Pawan Kheda said that the decision of the Chief Minister of Karnataka will be taken in the next day or two.
Churning continues at Kharge’s residence
Prior to this, on Tuesday (May 16), churning continued throughout the day at Congress Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence in the name of Karnataka CM. Kharge also had a detailed discussion about this with former Congress President Rahul Gandhi during the day. There was a meeting between the two for about one and a half hours.
Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah met Kharge
Congress National General Secretary KC Venugopal and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Surjewala were also present in the meeting being held at Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence. On Tuesday evening, both the contenders for the post of CM came separately to meet Kharge. DK Shivakumar arrived first and met Kharge for half an hour.
Siddaramaiah reached after he left. He met Kharge for about an hour. However, even after meeting both, the name of the CM could not be finalised. Now there is to be a churn on this once again on Wednesday.
Earlier on Monday, all the three observers of the party had reached Delhi and informed Kharge about the discussions held with the MLAs. By passing a resolution in the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting on Sunday, the right to choose the CM was given to the National President of the Congress.
