IPL 2024: On Sunday, there was a match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore, in which KKR registered a thrilling victory by 1 run. Kolkata had scored 222 runs while playing first. When the Bengaluru team came out to chase the target, the wicket of Virat Kohli became the cause of a huge controversy. Harshit Rana bowled a full-toss in the third over of the innings, on which a review was also taken. But when the ball-tracking system declared it to be a legal ball, Virat Kohli became angry and fought with the umpire. Now former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan has given a statement on this issue.
Irfan Pathan said, “BCCI has measured the waist height of all the players playing in IPL 2024, the same data is being used here. Due to this, the technology cannot be faulted too much and was clearly visible. That Virat is out. His behavior on this matter is intolerable.” Since Kohli was standing outside the crease when the ball was dismissed, the technology ruled him out on the grounds that if he had been inside the crease, the ball would have been below his waist length.
Irfan Pathan said ” BCCI has measured the body height and waist height of each player in IPL 2024, so those data have been used here, so the technology can’t be so wrong and it was clear OUT! but Virat Kohli’s behavior is not acceptable. ” [ Star Sports ]
