Virat Kohli Test Records: Virat Kohli’s batting form in the year 2024 has been very disappointing. So far in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, he has scored only 126 runs in 6 innings. On one hand, Kohli is being trolled a lot due to his poor form, but former Chief Selector of Team India, Chetan Sharma has made a different and unique prediction. Chetan Sharma believes that Virat is going to play two century innings in the next 2 matches. The next 2 matches are to be played in Melbourne and Sydney respectively and on both these grounds, Virat has scored one century each in his career.
Balls outside the off-stump have been troubling Virat Kohli for many years. Now something similar is happening in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy also. In the current series against Australia, he has been caught several times by the wicketkeeper and in the slips. According to ANI, despite this, Chetan Sharma has given a statement in support of Virat and expressed hope of two century innings from him.
Chetan Sharma said, “He is a player who has done a lot for the Indian team, due to which our expectations from him are high. I am confident that he will do well. Hopefully, he will score two centuries in the next two matches. I Before the series started, it was predicted that Virat would score three centuries in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.”
Only four centuries after 2020
Virat Kohli had scored 100 runs in the Perth Test, but after that he has been able to score only 21 runs in 3 innings. After the year 2020, Virat’s form has gone from bad to worse. In the last 4 years, he has batted in 65 Test innings, in which he has been able to score 1964 runs at an average of only 31.67. During this period, Kohli failed to score even a century every year because out of these 65 innings, he touched the 100-run mark only on three occasions. At the end of the year 2020, his test average used to be 53.78, which has now come down to 47.49.
