US embassy in Saudi Arabia attacked, 2 killed

Saudi Arabia: There has been a shooting incident in front of the US Consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. 2 people died in this attack. Officials said the attacker who attacked the embassy building was also killed in the crossfire, according to media reports. And one of the security guards was a Nepalese employee. He also died of serious injuries sustained during the firing. In this case, Mecca Police said that investigation is being done to find out the reason behind the incident.

According to media reports, the attack took place at 6.45 pm on Wednesday, when a man in a car stopped near the US Consulate building in Jeddah and got out with a gun in his hand. As soon as he came out, he started firing bullets. Thereafter, the security officials took immediate action to deal with the situation. In this action, the security forces killed him. During this, a Nepali security personnel died due to bullet injuries.

The shooting in Jeddah occurred as some 1.8 million people took part in the annual hajj pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca, just 70 km from the capital.
