US House: The US House on Saturday (April 20) approved a US $ 95.3 billion foreign aid package for Ukraine, Israel and other US allies. Lawmakers approved the package, most of which is military aid, in separate votes. However, the final permission from Congress is expected after sending the package to the Senate. During this time, US President Joe Biden has announced that he will sign it and make it a law.
According to the New York Post report, the Republican Party-dominated House of Representatives has approved a $95 billion package, which includes 4 bills. However, this package was approved by the Democrat-led Senate two months ago. This package includes funding for Ukraine and Israel, security of allies in Taiwan and the Indo Pacific and a warning to ban the Chinese mobile app TikTok.
Ukraine will get 61 billion dollars help
The House of Representatives said the bill provides $60.8 billion for Ukraine, more than 80 percent of which is to help Kiev during its ongoing war with Russia, including the purchase of US-made weapons. And replenishment of ammunition supply is also included. About US $ 9.5 billion of this package has been given as forgivable loan. This bill passed 311-112 in the House, with Republicans voting against it. During this, many Democrats celebrated the passing of the bill.
112 Republican MPs voted against the bill
According to the New York Post report, 112 out of 218 House Republican lawmakers voted against the bill. However, Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson, who supported the bill, warned that waving flags on the floor is a “violation” of the House.
Israel will get 26 billion dollars help
Funds have also been provided for Israel in this package, out of which 26 billion US dollars have been offered to Israel. However, approximately US$17 billion in military aid has been provided to Israel and US$9 billion in humanitarian aid to Gaza and other war-torn areas. A fund of $5.2 billion has been approved for Israel’s missile and rocket defense system, $3.5 billion for advanced weapons, $1 billion for weapons production and $4.4 billion for other needs.
8 billion dollars received to control China
The third bill, passed 385-34 in the House, is providing $8.1 billion for the Indo-Pacific region to help deter China, with about half of that set aside for Taiwan. Whereas, the fourth bill includes many priorities of Republican lawmakers, which are supported by Democrats, which also includes a ban on the Chinese mobile app TikTok.
