UP News: The Income Tax Department has taken major action against those who commit fraud in the name of political funding. According to the information received, the department has raided about two dozen places in Uttar Pradesh. According to income tax sources, this case is of tax evasion and fraud worth crores of rupees. According to the information received, raids are going on in Gujarat, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Haryana and some other states.
Election Commission had declared 111 political parties invalid
Sources said that a coordinated action has been initiated by the tax department against the Registered Unrecognized Political Parties (RUPPs), their affiliated entities, operators and others. It is believed that this action has been taken on the recommendation of the Election Commission, the Election Commission wrote a letter to the Central Board of Direct Taxation (CBDT) in June and declared 111 political parties as invalid. Large amount was collected wrongly. These are being raided on the basis of them.
Illegally taking donations in the name of elections
In June this year, the Election Commission ordered the removal of 111 such parties from the register, which were registered but did not exist. The addresses of these parties turned out to be fake and the mail sent to their addresses was returned, but these parties were taking donations illegally and making mistakes in it. Action is being taken by IT at 173 places across the country simultaneously.
ED also conducted raids regarding Delhi liquor policy
Earlier on Tuesday, in the Delhi Excise Policy scam case, the ED conducted raids at many places across the country. These raids were carried out at more than 30 places including Delhi, Lucknow, Gurugram, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Hyderabad. The ED conducted these raids on the basis of the FIR registered by the CBI in this case. Delhi A Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has been made the main accused in the FIR.
