Udham Singh Nagar News: Drains have been dug in a village of Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand, bordering Nepal border, to avoid waterlogging and floods. In Sisaiya village under Khatima tehsil, the drain being dug by the Irrigation Department was stopped by the bullies, due to which there is a lot of resentment among the villagers. Now the local people have met Khatima’s MDM Ravindra Bisht and submitted a memorandum to him and demanded that the drain be constructed smoothly.
The villagers, who submitted a memorandum to Khatima SDM, told the media that a 12 feet wide, three kilometer long drain is being constructed by the Irrigation Department in Sisaiya. Where there will be relief from water logging due to the construction of the drain, hundreds of farmers of many nearby villages are likely to get its benefits. Due to this, the crops of the farmers will be saved from getting wasted. The villagers said that some people have stopped the work of making a drain due to personal interest. The villagers have appealed to the Sub-Divisional Officer to remove the obstacles in the construction of the drain and ensure uninterrupted work so that the common people can get its benefit.
SDM’s assurance, construction will be done under the supervision of police force
In this case, SDM Ravindra Bisht told that a three kilometer long government drain was being constructed by the Irrigation Department in Sisaiya. Which some people of the village were opposing. They stopped the work of this drain which is absolutely wrong. The SDM said that if needed, a drain would be made in the presence of the police force so that the villagers could get rid of the problem of waterlogging.
