Uddhav Thackeray has said in the meeting that BMC should take the issue of Hindutva among the public for elections, Shiv Sena is already fighting for Hindutva, will fight tomorrow also and will keep fighting. The message was clear that the party has not abandoned Hindutva. Former Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar had reached Matoshree in an auto.
Uddhav Thackeray formed a committee of 18 leaders
Shiv Sena (UBT) chief has also formed a committee of 18 leaders for BMC elections. According to the information received by ABP News, most of the people have advised Uddhav to contest the elections on his own.
How important is BMC elections for Uddhav Thackeray?
BMC elections become important for Uddhav Thackeray because his party has got half the seats in the assembly elections from Mumbai only. There are a total of 36 seats in Mumbai region. Mahayuti has won 22 seats and Mahavikas Aghadi has won 14 seats. BJP has got 15 seats in Mahayuti while Uddhav’s Shiv Sena has got 10 seats in MVA.
In Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena has won a total of 20 seats across the state, out of which 10 are from Mumbai only. To return to power in BMC, Uddhav’s party not only needs to maintain this strike rate but the challenge is to further improve this strike rate. In Mumbai politics, Uddhav’s politics has faced a tough challenge from the Eknath Shinde faction.
Is BMC’s fight easy for Uddhav Thackeray?
The results of Maharashtra have accepted Eknath Shinde as the real heir of Bala Saheb. In such a situation, the fight for BMC is not going to be very easy for Uddhav Thackeray. There are a total of 227 wards in Mumbai Municipal Corporation. In the 2017 elections, Shiv Sena got 84 seats and BJP 82 seats. Municipal corporation elections are to be held here early next year. On the other hand, in Mahayuti, BJP is also making its strategy for government formation in view of the Municipal Corporation elections.
