Lord Venkateswara Temple News: The first meeting of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) was concluded recently. In this meeting, many important decisions were taken under the leadership of its new president BR Naidu. It was decided in the meeting that a panel of experts would be constituted to suggest an action plan to reduce the darshan time at Lord Venkateswara Temple to two-three hours. Apart from this, political rhetoric will be banned there.
Apart from this, many other major decisions were taken in this meeting like purchase of better quality ghee for making laddus and transfer of non-Hindus. Let us tell you that TTD is the board which manages Sri Venkateswara Temple of Andhra Pradesh. This meeting was also the first meeting after the Telugu Desam Party-led NDA came to power in June.
Trying to control crowd through AI and other methods
TTD executive officer J Shyamala Rao said they want to find ways to reduce the waiting time for darshan of Lord Venkateswara, which sometimes goes up to 20 hours. For this purpose, TTD will constitute a panel of experts to suggest ways to reduce and streamline the crowd of devotees by using AI and other technology.
This big decision was taken regarding non-Hindu employees
Rao said that TTD has also decided to write a letter to the state government to take an appropriate decision regarding non-Hindus working in Tirumala. According to officials, TTD wants non-Hindu employees working at the temple to be transferred to other government institutions or offered VRS. Officials said efforts are being made to ensure that all temple employees are in line with the religious and spiritual values of TTD.
Darshan quota will be abolished, even rhetoric will not be allowed
The Board has reviewed the ‘Darshan’ of AP Tourism Corporation of various states after a thorough investigation into the complaints regarding irregularities in the issuance of special entry tickets. It has also been decided to abolish the quota. It was also discussed in the meeting that politicians give statements or speeches after offering prayers in the temple, hence the TTD Board has banned such statements or speeches in Tirumala regardless of political affiliation. Rao said, “Legal action will be taken against such people as well as those who promote them, if necessary.”
Will withdraw money from private banks and deposit it in government bank
Amid concerns of some board members, TTD has also decided to withdraw all its deposits from private banks and deposit them in nationalized banks. Apart from this, TTD is likely to re-issue tenders for procurement of better quality ghee for preparing prasad including the famous laddu. The TTD Board has also approved 10 per cent increase in cash awards for employees rendering special services during the annual Brahmotsavam held from October 4 to 13 this year.
