UP Assembly Election 2022: Voting will be done in the third phase of the assembly elections in UP today. Voting will start today ie Sunday at 7 am and will continue till 6 pm. The total number of voters for the third phase is 2.15 crore (2,15,75,430) in which male voters are 1,16,12,010 and female voters are 99,62,324. A total of 627 candidates are in the fray for voting on 59 seats, out of which 531 are male candidates and 96 are female candidates.

Voting in 59 assembly seats in 16 districts of Hathras, Firozabad, Etah, Kasganj, Mainpuri, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Etawah, Auraiya, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Jalaun, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Hamirpur and Mahoba in the third phase of UP assembly elections 2022. Will be on February.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav’s name is prominent among the major candidates in this phase. He is contesting from Karhal seat of Mainpuri district. From there BJP has fielded Union Minister SP Singh Baghel. There itself Yogi Adityanath Ministers in the government Satish Mahana are in the fray from Maharajpur in Kanpur, Ramnaresh Agnihotri from Bhogaon in Mainpuri and Neelima Katiyar from Kalyanpur. The victory and defeat of Akhilesh Yadav’s uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav will also be decided in this phase. He is contesting from Jaswantnagar seat of Etawah.

Who are the leading candidates for Phase III?

Senior Congress leader Ajay Kapoor is in the fray from Kidwainagar seat of Kanpur. Former Union Minister Salman Khurshid’s wife Louise Khurshid is in the fray from Farrukhabad seat on a Congress ticket. MLA Ramveer Upadhyay, who left BSP and joined BJP, is contesting from Sadabad seat of Hathras.
