Three smugglers arrested for smuggling brown sugar from Maharashtra to Chhattisgarh

Brown Sugar Smugglers Arrested: Chichola Border Police of Rajnandgaon arrested three smugglers while smuggling illegal brown sugar from Nagpur in Maharashtra to Chhattisgarh. The police seized goods worth about one million, including 45 grams of brown sugar and cash, from the accused. The police took action against the three accused with the sections of NDPS.

Smugglers caught on the border of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh

In fact, the Rajnandgaon police got information from the informer that some people were going from Nagpur to Durg with brown sugar from an old motor cycle. On which sub-inspector Chetan Singh Chandrakar, in-charge of police post Chichola, along with his team took blockade action near RTO Barrier village Rampur (Khatutola). On checking the vehicle, 47 grams of brown sugar kept in a silver colored wrapper was found from the motorcycle.

During the interrogation of the police, the driver of the motorcycle revealed his name as Deepak Kumar Gupta and Chitrakant Rajput. Driver Deepak Kumar Gupta told that Vivek Sona alias Vivek Hudti, who lives in Bhilai, had ordered brown sugar. On which the police caught Vivek Sona alias Vivek Bone from Bhilai in front of his house and seized 02 grams of brown sugar and cash 90 thousand rupees from the possession of the accused.

SP disclosed the matter

Revealing the matter, Rajnandgaon SP Praful Thakur said that the police got information from the informer that two motorcycle riders from Nagpur in Maharashtra were going to Durg in Chhattisgarh with brown sugar. On this information, in Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra border Chichola, the police stopped two motorcyclists coming from Nagpur by putting up a blockade. On searching them, 45 grams of brown sugar was found from them.

During interrogation, the smugglers told that this brown sugar has been ordered by Vivek Sona alias Vivek Bone of Bhilai. After which the police seized 2 grams of brown sugar and 90 thousand rupees from Bhilai to the third accused Vivek. The police took action against the three accused under the sections of NDPS and were presented in the court where the court sent the three accused to judicial remand.
