The Kashmir Files Row: Recently the Indian International Film Festival (IFFI) was organized in Goa. In which a statement by Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid was in the headlines and there was a lot of controversy about it. Lapid had given a statement about the film ‘The Kashmir Files’, in which he called the film a propaganda. After this statement, a debate started in the entire film industry and till now the controversy is going on. Now three other jury members of Goa Film Festival have also supported Nadav Lapid. He has posted on social media that he agrees with Lapid’s opinion.

The three jury members who supported Lapid were American producer Ginko Gotoh, French film editor Pascal Chavans and French short filmmaker Javier Angulo Barturen. At the same time, Sudipto Sen, the only Indian among the jury members, also defended Lapid and said that Lapid’s comment about “The Kashmir Files” was his personal opinion.
Sen said, “Now if someone publicly chooses any one film and says something which is not expected, then it is his personal feeling. It has nothing to do with the jury members.” He gave this answer after the continuous controversy over Lapid’s statement.
There was a dispute over Lapid’s statement
Nadav Lapid was the Chief of International Jury of IFFI. At the award ceremony organized on the last day of the nine-day long film festival, he termed ‘The Kashmir Files’ as ‘an obscene and propaganda-spreading film’. After his statement, from filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri to actor Anpum Kher, who worked in the film, opposed it and reprimanded Lapid.
