During this, Jairam Ramesh made many allegations against the Modi government at the Center which are as follows.
Jairam Ramesh made these allegations against Congress
- Five years ago, the government of a non-biological prime minister had merged eight railway services into the Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS) and stopped recruitment through the Engineering Services Examination.
- On 5 October 2024, the government withdrew its decision. Now recruitment will continue through two separate examinations, one for civil services and one for engineering services.
- This was taken back in view of the concern that many of the incoming officers were generalists and lacked the necessary technical and engineering skills.
Questions raised regarding recruitment process
The Congress general secretary said, “This habit of taking decisions without thinking (first announcing, then thinking) of the non-biological Prime Minister remains a particular threat to our institutions. Railways is fundamentally an engineering system and all recruitments The deliberate attempt to forget this fact in the rush to standardize was foolish.”
According to a report in Times of India, the Department of Personnel and Training issued a memorandum on Saturday and informed that after considering the proposal of the Railway Ministry on Thursday, this decision was taken keeping in mind the needs of both technical and non-technical manpower in the ministry. .
