According to the National Center for Seismology, the depth of the earthquake was 150 km below the ground. In the information of the center, it was said that there was an earthquake in Ladakh at 6:32:57 pm on Sunday, January 1. The local residents of Kargil felt its tremors.

Before Ladakh, there was an earthquake at two more places in the country today (01-01-2023). According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), an earthquake occurred at 1:19 am on Sunday (01-01-2023) in the north-west of Jhajjar, Haryana, whose depth was 5 km below the ground.

According to the reading received from the center, the intensity of the earthquake in Delhi-NCR was 3.8 on the Richter scale. Due to this, the earth shook in many areas of Delhi-NCR. After that, there was an earthquake in the Bay of Bengal at around 11 am. Its intensity was measured at 4.5 on the Richter scale.
