Now the Maharashtra State Government has taken immediate steps to help these students.
Actually, the students studying in NIT Manipur were very upset due to the local tension. Due to this, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis discussed with the students over phone and assured them and promised them all possible help. Fadnavis immediately after talking to the students contacted the Manipur government and inquired about the situation.
Preparation to bring safe Maharashtra
After this, the Chief Secretary of Maharashtra also contacted the Director General of Police of Manipur and requested to keep these students in a safe environment immediately till the situation becomes normal. Apart from this, immediate arrangements are being made by the Government of Maharashtra to bring these students safely to Maharashtra. Maharashtra administration is constantly monitoring the situation.
54 people died
Officials have said that 54 people who have died in the violence. Out of these, the bodies of 16 have been kept in the mortuary of the district hospital in Churachandpur. At the same time, 15 bodies have been kept in the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences. Apart from this, 23 deaths have been confirmed by the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences in Lamphel, west of Imphal.
