How to make vinegared onions at home
-
To make vinegar onions, you will have to take baby onions i.e. small sized onions.
-
The smaller the size of the onion, the sweeter it is in eating.
-
If you do not have small onions, you can also make them by cutting big onions into four pieces.
-
Now peel the onion and remove the top part.
-
Make two cuts on the onion from the root side i.e. from the bottom size. Keep in mind that the cut should be made till the bottom so that the onion remains attached.
-
Now after cutting, put all the peeled onions in water and leave them.
-
Take a glass jar and add 1 teaspoon sugar in a pan and cook on low flame till it melts.
-
The sugar does not have to be stirred, it has to be caramelized so let it melt without stirring.
-
Now add 1 cup of water in the pan and add caramelized sugar and let it boil.
-
Add 10-12 black peppers, 1 teaspoon cumin, 1 bay leaf in water and boil it. Cool this water.
-
Put onion in the jar and also add whole green chillies as per your choice.
-
Pour normal water into the jar and add about half a cup of white vinegar.
-
Now filter and add water with black pepper, cumin and bay leaves in it.
-
For color, add 3-4 pieces of beetroot in it and keep it in the fridge for 1 day.
-
The next day you will see wonderful red colored and tasty onions.
-
You can easily store and eat this onion for a month.
