Nisith Pramanik Convoy Attack: The Supreme Court on Thursday (April 13) stayed the Calcutta High Court’s order for a CBI inquiry into the attack on Union Minister Nishith Pramanik’s convoy in Cooch Behar, West Bengal.
The Supreme Court asked the High Court to see the new material presented by the West Bengal Police in this case and then decide whether there is a need for investigation by the CBI in this matter or not. In fact, on March 28, the High Court had asked for a CBI inquiry on this issue. This was pronounced by the court on a PIL filed by BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari.
What did Nishith Pramanik say?
Regarding the attack on Nishith Pramanik’s convoy, it was said that it was done by the supporters of Mamta Banerjee’s party TMC. Pramanik had further said that when the Union Minister is not safe in West Bengal then what will happen to the common man. The people of the state are watching it. He also claimed that the law and order here is not right. BJP is constantly attacking Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee regarding this.
‘BJP is inciting’
TMC leader Jayprakash Majumdar had said on Pramanik’s allegations that BJP leaders Dilip Ghosh and Shubhendu Adhikari and BJP workers are inciting people to disturb peace in West Bengal. It is not true that TMC people have attacked.
What is the matter?
Minister of State for Home and Youth Affairs and Sports Nishith Pramanik was going to meet BJP workers at Dinhata in Cooch Behar on 25 February. During this, stones were pelted on his convoy. Due to this, the glasses of many vehicles were also broken.
