A jewelery shop owner said, “There was a huge demand for gold yesterday on Dhanteras. From gold coins to jewellery, everything is being sold in abundance. We felt that the market would remain cold due to inflation, but this time the demand was higher than in previous years.” Buying gold is not just an investment but also a part of tradition and culture. People consider buying gold on Diwali after a year’s hard work as bringing Goddess Lakshmi home.
People are investing in gold due to rising prices
Tarun Gupta says, “Gold prices will increase further in the coming days, so I recommend buying now. Gold is a good investment. If we look at the price of 8-10 years ago and the current price, its benefits are clearly visible.” Tradition is also a big reason behind this increasing demand for gold. Buying gold on Dhanteras and Diwali is considered auspicious.
Purchasing of gold and silver in Patna market also
The market of Patna also looked lively during Dhanteras. In the capital Patna, the market was looking lively on the occasion of Dhanteras. People are buying in large quantities and the sale of gold and silver is in full swing. On the occasion of Dhanteras, a gold and silver seller while talking to ABP said that even though the price of silver is more than ₹ 100,000 per kg, people are buying it. Whereas gold is ₹8000 per gram. Gold is also being sold. The owner of the jewelery shop says that the price of gold and silver will increase by 15% in the next few days.
From Chandni Chowk to Kashi everyone bought gold
Chandni Chowk market was seen decorated on the occasion of Dhanteras. People bought a lot. People bought everything from gold and silver to utensils and brooms for their homes. Talking about traders, they say that because this time Diwali is falling at the end of the month, the salaried people are facing difficulty in shopping.
On Dhanteras in Varanasi, a crowd of customers was seen at gold jewelery and silver shops. On the day of Dhanteras, everyone was seen buying according to their budget for the worship of Goddess Lakshmi. Traders associated with jewelery business are also happy and satisfied with the orders and customers. Jewellers, despite the huge rise in the price of gold, are talking about the influx of customers and good business.
