Online Fraud: A new scam of a gang related to online fraudsters has come to light. Where scammers are making people victims of fraud by showing IDs of Mumbai Police officers. The conversation about this scam started when a journalist defeated the thugs by making underworld don Dawood Ibrahim his uncle.

Actually, journalist Saurav Das has shared a post on ‘X’ warning people about this scam. In which he told that he got the first call in the morning through an internet voice call, he said that it was from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). The entire call lasted for about an hour and I was pretty sure it was true.

What is the matter?

Saurav Das said that AI said that my number will be blocked in 2 hours and press 9 for more information. Through this I reached that first person. Who had pretended to be from the Telecom Division. They told me that someone in Bombay Andheri East has filed a complaint against a number registered through my Aadhaar for illegal advertisements and harassing texts.

According to the screenshot shared by ex-user Saurav, the scammers told him that Mumbai Police had sent a request to TRAI to block the numbers, so it would have to block all the numbers linked to his Aadhaar card. The swindler also shared the details of the FIR with Das and forwarded the call to Andheri East Police Station.

Saurav said, “I should ask the police to send them a letter stating that my original number is mine and I am not connected to the case to avoid interruption. A lot of identity theft is happening in India. After this I can contact other people. Fake police ID in the name of Pradeep Sawant seen

X user Saurav told that he was identified as Pradeep Sawant. However, a logo of Maharashtra Police was also seen in that picture. Saurabh became suspicious about this when the conversation of the third ‘police officer’ was not in Marathi. He said the ‘third police officer’ “called his head constable in English and ordered him to ‘investigate my case'”.

Involved in ‘money laundering case of Rs 65 crore’ – Thug

Das said that when the fourth man, the ‘head constable’, recorded his ‘statement’ and asked for his Aadhaar number, which he said was wrong. Das said that I wanted to see what they do with it. The man was talking on the walkie-talkie. The accused thugs told him that he was involved in a ‘money laundering case of Rs 65 crore’.
