The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) today successfully launched its third Moon mission – ‘Chandrayaan-3’ using the LVM3-M4 rocket. On this success, Japan’s space agency wrote in its tweet on the official Twitter handle that ‘Congratulations to India on the successful launch of Chandrayaan. Britain’s space agency UK Space congratulated India and wrote on Twitter, ‘Congratulations to ISRO for the successful launch of Manzil, Chand … Chandrayaan.’
Chinese newspaper ‘Global Times’ congratulated like this
China’s official newspaper ‘Global Times’ also congratulated India on the successful launch of Chandrayaan 3. Taking a dig at India’s successes, the newspaper wrote in its tweet, ‘Congratulations, India has successfully launched its lunar mission Chandrayaan 3 into orbit on Friday. The spacecraft is expected to make a soft landing on the Moon in August. If India is successful in this endeavour, it will become the fourth country in the world to make a controlled landing on the Moon.
The first lunar mission was launched in 2008
ISRO launched the first Chandrayaan-1 for its lunar mission in the year 2008 which had only one orbiter. ISRO launched Chandrayaan-2 in the year 2019 which had an orbiter as well as a lander and a rover. Whereas, Chandrayaan-3 has only lander and rover, not orbiter. ISRO has named the lander ‘Vikram’ and the rover ‘Pragyan’. Rover is a six-wheeled robot that comes out after landing.
