Junior Doctor Hunder Strike : Due to the rape and murder of a female doctor in Kolkata, the hunger strike of junior doctors in West Bengal was going on, which has now been ended. After meeting Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the doctors have put an end to this strike. It is being told that the strike has been ended with the insistence of the family of the deceased doctor and an oath to carry forward the struggle. Junior doctors were on strike in Dharmatala for the last 17 days in connection with the rape and murder of a doctor in RG Kar Medical Hospital.
Junior doctors of West Bengal went on hunger strike for their demands. The state government had said that the doctors would have to end their hunger strike to participate in the meeting, but the Junior Doctors Front, which was leading the movement, had clearly said that they would not accept the condition of the state government and their delegation would go on hunger strike. Will participate in the meeting while continuing the strike.
The meeting lasted for 2 hours
A total time of 45 minutes was allotted for the meeting with Mamata Banerjee. Last Saturday, October 19, West Bengal Chief Secretary Manoj Pant had invited junior doctors to meet Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today i.e. on October 21. The time of the meeting was decided for 45 minutes, but the meeting of junior doctors with the Chief Minister lasted for 2 hours.
Junior doctors were sitting on hunger strike since October 5
Sayantani Ghosh, one of the junior doctors who participated in the strike, had said that the doctor’s delegation would test positive and hold a meeting with CM Banerjee. The junior doctor was sitting on a hunger strike since October 5 in connection with the rape and murder of a junior female doctor in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
