Mumtaz’s career started with Do Raaste
Mumtaz was working in Hindi films but her first film as a heroine was Raj Khosla’s Do Raaste. This film was released in 1969, in which she played the role of a lead actress for the first time. With her beauty, screen presence, dance, acting, i.e. every aspect, Mumtaz very quickly won the hearts of the audience and became a jubilee hit.

Paired with Rajesh Khanna
Rajesh Khanna was the lead actor in Do Raaste. As soon as the film was released, the pairing of Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz became a hit. The audience still likes Mumtaz’s dance and her acting in two songs of this film- Bindiya Chamkegi, Chhup Gaye Sare Nazare. Everybody ignored it
In an interview to Times of India, Mumtaz said that the actresses of that time in Bollywood used to ignore her. They did not even talk to her or say hi-hello. When she left, other actresses would pull their chairs and sit far away. However, Mumtaz also said that at that time she used to talk to Waheeda Rehman. Let us tell you that there was a lot of professional competition between Mumtaz and Sharmila Tagore at that time, due to which both were very far away from each other.
