PTR On MK Stalin’s Family Comment Row: Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan on Saturday (April 22) dismissed an audio clip making allegations against him as ‘fabricated’. The purported audio clip claimed that Palnivel Thiyaga Rajan (PTR) had commented on the wealth of the family members of Chief Minister MK Stalin.

Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai had recently tweeted the purported audio clip, claiming that PTR has revealed some secrets about the assets of DMK chief MK Stalin’s son Udhayanidhi and son-in-law Sabarisan.

Did Tamil Nadu Finance Minister PTR say anything?

In its two-page statement, PTI said that the audio clip is malicious and fabricated. He said that anyone can make such audio clips through technology. PTR tweeted its statement and screenshots of the forensic analysis of the purported audio clip. He claimed that the clip shared by the leader of the rival party (BJP) was clearly fake.

Describing itself as a strong advocate of free speech, the PTR said it had not responded to several allegations but was forced to do so this time. PTR said in its statement, “So I am compelled to respond at this point because a social media post has been recirculated in a sorry state. It has been replicated and amplified by unscrupulous political players.” With this, PTR said, “Please note that publicly available technical analysis of the said clip clearly shows that it is not authentic.”
