Six workers died in an explosion at a firecracker manufacturing unit in Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu. It is being told that this explosion occurred during the process of mixing chemicals, due to which many rooms were completely destroyed. According to officials, fire and rescue department vehicles reached the spot. Police has also reached the spot and is investigating the incident. More than 80 laborers work in 35 rooms of this factory.
This firecracker manufacturing factory is in Bommayapuram village of Appanayakanpatti Panchayat, which is run by a person named Balaji. This incident happened when work was going on in the factory and the employees were engaged in their regular work. The deceased were identified as Velmurugan, Nagaraj, Kannan, Kamaraj, Shivakumar and Meenakshi Sundaram, who died in the blast. Apart from this, another person has been admitted to the government hospital in Virudhunagar in critical condition.
