Talks between PM Modi and President Putin, discussions on these issues including the return of Indians

Russia Ukraine War: Amidst the situation arising out of Russia’s attack on Ukraine and the rising demands to bring back the Indians trapped there, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) on Thursday. A few hours later, PM Modi spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the phone. The discussion between the two leaders lasted for about 20 to 25 minutes. President Putin briefed the Prime Minister on the recent developments regarding Ukraine.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Modi reiterated his old belief that differences between Russia and NATO can be resolved through dialogue. The Prime Minister called for efforts from all sides to return to the path of diplomatic dialogue.
